THIS WEEK:

I have not decided what book challenge I'm going to do yet this year, so for now I will just keep a list of books I've read for the year. I saw a "rating system" on eighteen25.blogspot.com (an awesome site) that inspired me to come up with my own. Hopefully soon I will get my dreamweaver working again so I can create a graphic.

SONJA'S RATING SYSTEM:
NO STAR - why did I read this book? These are hours of my life I will never get back. If I own this book it is going straight into the trash
ONE STAR - Glad I read it, but won't ever read it again and probably won't recommend it to anyone. If I own this book it is going straight to the yardsale or DI box.
TWO STARS - Glad I read it, likely won't ever read it again but I would probably will recommend it to others. If I own this book I will donate it to the library.
THREE STARS - This book had great things about it, but was not perfect "for me". If I own this book I will gladly loan it out but won't care if I ever get it back or I will donate it to the Library.
FOUR STARS- I liked this book, will recommend it to others, and will even consider buying a copy for myself. If I own this book I will likely keep it and loan it to others with the intent I get it back someday.
FIVE STARS - I will read this book over and over again. I will have a copy for loaning and a copy to keep for myself.

So this is what I read this week:
1) Fallen Grace by Mary Hooper / YA
( a story of two sisters in Dickens England. Predictable story line but cute story. The information about that time in history was interesting). **
2) The Search for WondLa by Tony Diterlizzi / JF
( a story of a girl and her robot mother traveling to find others of her kind. It reminded me of a futuristic Wizard of Oz) ***
3) I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak / YA
( this author wrote "The Book Thief". It was an interesting story but I'm surprised at it's YA rating. It should be an adult book for swearing and sexual content) ***
4) Abandon by Meg Cabot / YA
(You have to love Meg Cabot. I love her characters. This is a retelling of the story of Persephone. It was kinda jumbled at the beginning and was hard to figure out the story line. But I do want to find out what happens in the sequel. I have realized I am a SUCKER for love triangles) ***
5) City of Bones by Cassandra Clare / YA
(This is my fourth time reading this book. I love this author. Her characters are beautifully written and her stories are rich in detail. Plus the whole love triangle thing.) ****
